Description of Services: 
Children’s Developmental Services Agency (CDSA) provides services for the development of infants and toddlers with special needs and their families. Services are for children birth up to 3 years old that have a developmental delay or established condition (a diagnosed physical or mental condition). The ITP provides a range of services to help families meet the developmental needs of their infant or toddler. Some of these include: evaluations, service coordination, physical, occupational and speech-language therapies, assistive technology, family support, and nutrition services.

Fees/ Payment Type Accepted: 
No family is denied services because of inability to pay. Evaluation and service coordination are at no cost for the family. Medicaid and the family’s insurance are billed with permission.

Description of Services:
Provides multidisciplinary diagnostic services for the autism spectrum in Watauga and surrounding counties. The evaluation process is designed to describe the nature and extent of strengths and weaknesses in each of the primary areas associated with autism: Language and Communication, Social Skills, and Repetitive Behaviors. The assessment can also describe how these areas interact to affect a person’s quality of life. Other conditions often associated with the autism spectrum will be screened for so that appropriate referrals or recommendations can be made.


Ages Served:  
Preschool children to adults who are seeking to rule out or confirm a diagnosis of autism.

The University of North Carolina TEACCH Autism Program creates and cultivates the development of exemplary community-based services, training programs, and research to enhance the quality of life for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and for their families across the lifespan.
