Partnership for Children

Avery
Mission:
The mission of this agency is to nurture and support families with children from birth to five years of age so that they have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Vision:
The vision is that all young children in the county will be healthy and ready to enter school.

Meeting:
  • AMY Regional Library in Newland
  • Every third Wednesday of each month at 12:30pm - 2:00pm.

Watuaga
Mission:
  • administering Smart Start and NC Pre-kindergarten funds to support programs to benefit children age 0-5 years and their families.
  • convening community stakeholders to develop programs and services that support children and families.
  • serving as a voice for the early childhood community.
  • educating the community on the critical needs of young children and helps develop solutions.

Vision:
Believe that every child deserves the opportunity to develop to his or her fullest potential in a community that supports, nurtures, and empowers children and families.

Mitchell-Yancey
  • A local office of North Carolina’s Smart Start system
  • Brings together all the people involved in a young child’s life.  
  • This includes families, teachers, doctors, caregivers, social workers and many others to ensure every child has all they need for healthy growth and development.

Wilkes
Mission:
  • To help Wilkes County children enter kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed by serving children birth to age five. 
  • Evolved into the lead agency for providing services for children birth to five and their families. Activities and programs focus on family support, health, and child care and are research based with proven results. 

Meeting:
  • in the Cafeteria at Wilkes Family Central 
  • every 2nd Wednesday of each month at 12:00 pm
