Description of Services:
​Appalachian Regional Healthcare System is the healthcare leader in the High Country, comprised of two hospitals: Charles A. Cannon Jr. memorial Hospital in Linville and Watauga Medical Center in Boone. The Outpatient Behavioral Health Program is designed to meet the needs of adults, children and families experiencing a variety of problematic behaviors, thoughts and life patterns. The program works to improve emotional stability and increase general functioning, as well as help clients identify, develop and increase the use of effective coping skills by emphasizing the existing strengths of the individual or family system.

Description of Services: 
​
Daymark Recovery Services provides evidence-based mental health services and alcohol/drug use treatment, along with advocacy and technical assistance to communities.  As a Comprehensive Care Center, they offer regular clinical services including outpatient screening, assessment, treatment and psychiatric services for all ages along with School-Based  Therapy serving children/adolescents in all nine public schools. There is also an array of enhanced services such as: Intensive In-Home for children and adolescents and Day Treatment for grades K-5, Assertive  Community Treatment Team (ACTT) for adults, Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Treatment  (SAIOP), and Mobile Crisis Management services for the whole county.  A Walk-In clinic allows  individuals to begin services without an appointment during normal weekdays, though initial  appointments can be scheduled by phone or face-to-face if preferred.

Description of Services:  
Mission Children’s Hospital includes 96 beds dedicated to infants and children, and is the only full-service children’s hospital in western North Carolina; it is housed on the Mission Hospital Memorial Campus. Mission Children’s Hospital offers inpatient, outpatient and outreach services.  
​Reuter Outpatient Center offers a full range of pediatric specialty services, all situated in a convenient outpatient setting.

  • Western North Carolina’s only dedicated pediatric radiology service offers on-site, fellowship-trained pediatric radiologists and pediatric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with “movie goggles” that dramatically reduce anxiety and the need for medication

Description of Services:
Southmountain Children & Family Services operates and manages Child Advocacy Centers in seven western North Carolina counties. All are designed to minimize trauma to children and their non-offending family members resulting from child physical or sexual abuse, to advocate for and support child victims and their non-offending family members and to enhance the legal process in achieving optimal criminal prosecutions. They also offer mental health counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Youth Villages offers intensive in-home services using  Multi-systemic  Therapy (MST).  MST has been  demonstrated to be successful in helping young people age 12 to 17 who display serious antisocial behaviors and are at-risk of placement out of the home due to their behaviors.

Description of Services: 
Crossnore  Clinical Services accepts children and youth for individual and family counseling.  Crossnore's staff therapists are licensed or associate-level clinicians (LCSW, LMFT, or LPC) and utilize a trauma-informed approach. Models used by clinicians vary based on the needs of the child and family and are determined by a complete assessment to determine needs. Therapies and services may include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), equine therapy, individual and family counseling, group therapy, and play therapy. Psychiatry services are also available.
