Youth Villages completes the Comprehensive Clinical Assessment or GAIN Light Assessment with the youth and family. Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment focused on relieving symptoms of trauma. TF-CBT is intended to help children, adolescents, and their caregivers overcome the impact of traumatic events. It can help with traumas related to physical abuse, sexual abuse, witnessing domestic violence, or an unexpected death of a loved one. Children and adolescents develop coping strategies for traumatic stress reactions and often reduce symptoms of depression, and anxiety.
