Providing referral, support, and services to families and children while working on our mission to nurture an active, supportive community that provides choices, opportunities, and encouragement for all children and families in Ashe County to become healthy, educated, and self-reliant.

Description of Services: Providing support, advocacy, and emergency housing services to assist survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and their families. Services also include providing education, empowerment, and support for children, adolescents, and teens to work toward ending the cycle of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Description of Services:
Family Foundations is a home visitation program providing support and resources to families with children ages birth to 5 to encourage positive relationships and ensure that children are healthy, happy, and ready to learn.

Early Childhood & Education Services:

Description of Services:
Providing support, training, and assistance to child care providers to ensure high quality care for children. A Lending Library is available with toys, books, games, and learning kits available for check-out.  These items provide families and child care providers additional activities to use with children. A small annual membership fee is required for the lending library. 
                                                           
Triple P- Positive Parenting Program:

Description of Services:
​Offering tips and strategies to help parents encourage positive behavior while maintaining a positive, nurturing environment for their family. Through the encouragement of positive communication, sharing information and consistency with children, Triple P is proven to make parenting easier and more rewarding.

Sizemore Head Start

Description of Services: 
​A federally funded program for low income families. Most Head Start schools accept both Early Head Start and regular Head Start. Many Head Start and Early Head Start programs are based in centers and schools. 

Prior to enrollment, the Head Start Family Services staff and/or Partnership Specialist assists the parent or legal guardian in completing the necessary forms to apply for enrollment. The information that is supplied by the parent or guardian is confidential and maintained in locked file cabinets and password protected computers in the Head Start center and administrative office.

Generations

Description of services: 
​
Generations ADHC serves the adults of our community (ages 18+) by providing daily support to individuals who live at home but are seeking enrichment activities and increased opportunities to socialize with others. At Generations, we offer meals and snacks that are a time of conversation and connection, medication administration and monitoring, compensatory education classes and a variety of daily activities and community outings. We work in collaboration with families and other agencies to ensure that our adults are striving towards their own individual goals and have a rich and varied daily experience at the center. The adults at Generations are offered both informal and structured activities with the children from our co-located childcare program, providing opportunities for them to share in the child’s joy and energy and to create connections that span across the ages.

Generations CDC is committed to providing an inclusive and enriching care and educational environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. In our classrooms, we seek to provide an experience that recognizes and fosters each child’s potential, respects the diversity of families, supports family members in their multiple roles, and values family involvement. Our team seeks to provide a loving, nurturing, and secure environment in which young children can grow, learn, and thrive. In collaboration with our co-located Adult Day Health Center, Senior Center, and Assisted Living, we strive to offer young children intergenerational opportunities that can provide them a rich and diverse social experience filled with moments of joy and connection.

Fees:
​Tuition payments are accepted from a variety of sources including private payments, child care subsidy, foster care support funds, and more.
