Description of Services: 
Wilkes Developmental Day School serves children with and without special needs. Our goal is to meet the individual needs of each child. Tools used for assessments are observations, Creative Curriculum assessment, and Early LAP (Learning assessment profile). Children with special needs or those who are showing delays are formally evaluated with parental consent by the public school system or the CDSA (Children's Developmental Services Agencies). Individual goals are created and teachers incorporate the goals in the daily routines including as needed: Physical Therapy, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Early Intervention, Speech Therapy, Resources for Families, and Homebound and Community Services.

Ages served:  All children ages birth to five years.

Description of Services: 
Wilkes Community Partnership for Children, a local Smart Start Agency, ensures that young children in Wilkes County enter school healthy and ready to succeed with school readiness, Child Safety,  Child Development, Child Care Resource and Referral Trainings, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Reach Out and Read, Raising a Reader, Play and Learn Groups, and more.
