Description of Services:

Free Fitness Center: 
Free for Ashe County residents, our workout facility offers cardio and strength training equipment.  The ACPR staff offers nutritional and training advice geared towards each individual.  All participants must be at least 16 years old or under the supervision of an adult and must sign our waiver form before entering the Fitness Center. More info.

Family Central Gymnasium: 
Our newly remodeled gym is designed for recreational play is sports such as basketball, volleyball and pickleball.  We also have an enclosed area for batting practice, archery or other training.  Sports equipment such as balls, paddles, nets are available upon request.  More info on rental.

Ball Field Rentals:
  Leagues or individuals can rent the ball fields at Family Central.  The cost covers field paint and maintenance labor.  Fields are unavailable during inclement weather or in cases of excessive rain and standing water.   
Soccer/Football field: $150/day 
 
Baseball field: $100/day

Adaptive Baseball for the Exceptional (ABLE) Recreation ​

​Description of Services:  ABLE is a non-profit organization that coordinates activities/events for families who have children with special needs, including mental and physical disabilities.  The main focus is adaptive baseball in the Spring; however, other monthly activities are offered throughout the year including adaptive bowling and various holiday parties.

Ages Served:  All ages

Fees/ Payment Type Accepted:   Adaptive baseball has a nominal fee.  All other events are typically free.  Call for more information.

Description of Services:  A sensory friendly showing will occur every Saturday at 2pm in IG Greer Auditorium. .  The Sensory Friendly showings are special screenings during the day where lighting is dimmed, the sound is lowered, and captions are played.  Movement and noise within the theater is acceptable as is bringing outside food and drinks to accommodate special diets.  The Films Council is committed to creating accessible movie-going environments for all of our patrons. *Movies and times are subject to change without prior notification.  

Cost:  Movies are $1.00 in advance at the ticket desk and $2.00 at the door!

Description of Services: 4-H is the largest youth development organization in North Carolina. Hundreds of thousands of young people learn the skills to succeed through 4-H educational programs and camps. NC State Extension and the Cooperative Extension Program at N.C. A&T State University conduct 4-H programs where youth learn by doing.
