Description of Services: The North Carolina Early Intervention Branch is a part of the NC Division of Public Health. It is the lead agency for the NC Infant-Toddler Program, which provides support and services for families and their children, birth to three who have special needs. Services include family support, assistive technology, physical, occupational and speech-language therapies and many more.

The Help Line is an information and referral Help Line for those living with, caring for and concerned about a child with special health care needs. Callers can learn about health care programs as well as funding resources available to North Carolina residents.
Topics most often discussed with help line callers include:
  • Information and services available under government and community programs.
  • Resources to help pay for medications, medical equipment/supplies, adaptive devices, visits to the doctor, utilities or food.
  • How to find health care and dental providers.
  • How and where to apply for disability income for a child.
  • How to find services when relocating to and within North Carolina.

Description of Services: Driver Rehabilitation Services is for any person who would benefit from the services. A registered Occupational Therapist with a State certification as a driver instructor and specialist training in driver rehabilitation conducts a clinical evaluation at the client’s home to determine strengths and limitations. Training occurs on an individual basis, dealing with specific needs and covering every aspect of safe driving.
